Our Christmas Party

Oh wow did we have fun! We played pass the present, made a tissue paper wreath, and made reindeer dust! After all the "work" we had quite an appetitte! We munched on pretzels and oreos. A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Dean for coordinating and running our party. Also, thank you Mrs. Graham, Mr. Arvin, and Mrs. Deshler for taking time to come help! Thank you to the parents who sent in treats for the party, too! I am thankful for wonderful, supportive parents and sweet students!

Making a Food Web

Together we made a food web to see all the different paths energy can take. Food webs are food chains that overlap.

December 11

Wow! We have been hard at work here in room 132!
This week, we have started reading informational text as a writer. Our class is "shopping" for ideas to use in our own writing. Please start talking about future research projects with your child. We will begin writing our own informational articles in January when we return from Christmas Break.

In math, we started our graphing and probability unit. Together we will learn how to organize data in a variety of different graphs. At the same time, we will also interpret the information in the graph.

Food web, populations, herbivores....these our some of the words we have been learning during our Ecosystems and Interdependence Unit. Your child brought home a study guide and flash cards today. Their test is Wednesday 12/16. STUDY! STUDY! STUDY!

Adams All-Stars Announcements 12/3

Here are a few quick announcements for your reading enjoyment!

Monday is our end of the unit test for multiplication. The kids have study guides that need to be completed, signed, checked, and returned by Monday. This is NOT a timed test. Please make sure your child is studying the basic multiplication, addition, and subtraction tests every night to ensure mastery!

Reading Response Journals need to be turned in on your child's assigned day. Please encourage your child NOT to do all five responses on the same night. They need to spend at least 15-20 minutes on each entry.

Book orders will be coming home! Orders are due by Wednesday Dec. 9. These make AWESOME gifts for all the kids in your family...nieces, nephews!

Popcorn and Poetry Party!

This week we celebrated the end of our poetry unit with a party! I am amazed at the writing that came out of room 132. We are truly a community of writers! Enjoy the pictures!

We have been so busy in room 132! Our pencils having been moving...can you smell the smoke?! This week we are publishing our poems. The kids have worked so hard on them and are super excited to type them up! I am very proud of them and all the hardwork they have put into their writing! Be on the look out for them to come home!
